Emily Porter is Vice President at The Nickles Group, LLC, specializing in legislative strategy and health care policy. She brings a unique perspective of health care issues with a broad background that includes more than a decade of Hill experience, including most recently serving as Assistant to Speaker John Boehner for Policy.

During her time on Capitol Hill, Emily was instrumental in managing and messaging key issues for the caucus related to health care reform as well as Medicare and Medicaid policy. In this capacity, she worked closely with House and Senate leadership, and committees as well as members of Congress and staff, including during the initial implementation of the Affordable Care Act.

In addition to health care, Emily's Hill portfolio includes significant education work with Rep. Boehner during his time as chairman of the Education and Workforce Committee. While at the committee, she served as Coalitions Director for Education Policy building broad support for major education initiatives benefiting K-12 students.

Prior to joining the Boehner team in 2004, Emily worked for House members Trent Franks of Arizona and Tom Tancredo of Colorado. She began her public policy career at the Cato Institute in Washington, D.C.

Porter has a master's degree from The George Washington University and a bachelor's degree from DePauw University.
